Implemented...ish Allow users to cancel recurring upgrade from within their account when using PayPal as payment provider

Well, I switched over to PayPal from "PayPal Legacy", and new accounts are not upgrading correctly.

When paying with PayPal, where it says "Account upgrade:" instead of displaying the correct username, in all payments it displays the same username. None of the accounts are being updated.

Also, I have a 1 month option and a 6 month upgrade option. However, if I pick the 1 month option now it automatically defaults to the 6 months subscription.

I have searched high and low for any additional options that I may need to update, but I can't find anything.
 
I was told this is the fix. PS, the preview does not show the entire fix, click into it.

I drew some conclusions as to what I thought the issue was and it turns out that, while that was a bug, it was not the bug you were running into.

You can patch this yourself.

You will need to open the file: src/XF/Payment/PayPalRest.php

Find:

PHP: 
        $planDetails = $this->makePayPalRequest('get', 'v1/billing/plans', [
            'json' => [

And change to:

PHP: 
        $planDetails = $this->makePayPalRequest('get', 'v1/billing/plans', [
            'query' => [

(Change this one line to read query instead of json).

I am marking this "Implemented...ish".

For reasons mentioned a while ago, it wasn't possible for the legacy PayPal handler to handle cancellations.

Starting with 2.3.8, the new PayPal handler that we added in XenForo 2.3.0 now has support for users cancelling payments.

Fixed Thread 'PayPalRest does not implement processCancellation()'

XF\Payment\PayPalRest does not implement method processCancellation() so users can't cancel a recurring subscription directly from XenForo like it is possible with Stripe.
The class also does not override method renderCancellationTemplate() like it is done in XF\Payment\PayPal so nothing is displayed at all for the users.

This is bad UX and should be fixed, ideally processCancellation() should be fully implemented.
