As long as you make a thorough backup of the entire database beforehand you will have nothing to worry about imo. If you have made manual changes to templates or the core files it would be best to make a backup of those as well.

This type of error usually occurs when you attempt to repair an InnoDB database table due to InnoDB storage engine not supporting repair. You can give InnoDB recovery a try instead. For more please see this link. https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/innodb-recovery.html

Do you have any third party add ons that look for keywords when someone is posting and sends the post to the moderation queue if it contains said keyword? This can be a reason that will trigger something like that imo.

@FadedMartian, were you able to reset your admin password? If the truncating of the aforementioned table didn't help, there are a couple of other things that you can try.

It was also the same with my add ons.

In regard to the first part, what's your php version set to in the new server?

Have you considered to request this as an add on at the Resource and add on-requests forum? Adding the option to notify users about the activity of those that they are following is an easy one to code. By activity I mean when they post, login or logout to name a few examples...

This is something that isn't done with the in house options of the software a.f.a.i.k. You will need a custom add on for that.

From what I've seen there are no changes in the 2.3.8. version that will require php 8.4. only. In other words, it should work fine with php 8.3.. That said, from a secuirty point of view it would be better to upgrade the php.

Truncate the xf_login_attempt table to remove the lock from failed login attempts.
